Gospel musician KODA reported dead

Reports of the passing of gospel musician Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, widely known as KODA has hit mother Ghana. Gospel artist Nii Okai, a close friend of KODA, confirmed the heartbreaking news.

According to Nii Okai, KODA transitioned to glory in the early hours of Sunday, April 21, 2024. He urged everyone to pray for KODA's family as they come to terms with his passing. While specifics regarding the cause of his death were not provided, unverified sources suggest that he succumbed to an illness he had been battling.


At the age of 46, KODA leaves behind a wife and three children. Hailing from Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana, Kofi Owusu Dua Anto (KODA) was a Ghanaian gospel singer, songwriter, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist.



Renowned for his contributions to Ghana's contemporary gospel music scene, KODA was celebrated as one of its defining voices. He garnered multiple awards and was dedicated to spreading the gospel while also shaping the musical landscape through his production work.


Among his notable productions were works for artists such as the late Danny Nettey, Ps. Joe Beechem, Nii Okai, Halal Afrika, and Eugene Zuta, among others. KODA's musical legacy includes three studio albums, two live albums, and two instrumental/jazz albums.



His sixth vocal album, 'Keteke,' was a standout addition to his impressive discography. KODA's music resonated widely, with hits like 'Nkwaa Abodo,' 'Nsem Pii,' 'Adooso,' and 'Hossana,' alongside tracks like 'Poma Dadaa,' 'Amen,' and 'Zion Song' that touched many hearts.
