‘After next album, I no do again’ - Davido on ending his lustrous music career

Nigerian artist David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has hinted that he may not release another album following his upcoming one. The singer, who recently made headlines due to an online feud with his colleague Wizkid, expressed frustration, suggesting that some individuals are keen on pushing him out of the music industry and he may step back to ensure peace.

In a post on his social media handle, Davido wrote, “Yall niggas want me out the game that bad? Oya after next album I no do again. So una fit get peace.” He indicated that since he entered the industry, many of his peers have not experienced peace.

Davido further revealed that the release of the music video for "Kante," featuring Fave, from his "Timeless" album, marks the conclusion of the "Timeless" era, a notable track from his Grammy-nominated album released in March 2023.

The announcement has stirred reactions within the music community, with fans and industry insiders expressing surprise and disappointment at Davido's decision. Despite this, many have lauded his contributions to the Nigerian music scene and remain hopeful for a potential change of plans in the future.

Additionally, Davido is the founder of Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), a record label aimed at nurturing new music talent and mentoring the next generation of artists. DMW has already signed promising acts such as Dremo, Mayorkun, and Perruzzi.
