Fella Makafui's Manager Speaks Amidst FDA Investigations And Arrest: "She Was Invited By The Police, Not Arrested"

Ghanaian actress and businesswoman Fella Makafui was called in by the police on Tuesday, May 22, as part of an inquiry into allegations regarding the illegal sale and promotion of drugs. Contrary to initial reports of her arrest, her manager, Richmond Amofa Sarpong, clarified to Joy Entertainment in Accra that she was invited for questioning and not detained.

Sarpong denied accusations that Makafui was involved in selling or promoting unapproved products, asserting that most of the products in question had been approved, with the remaining undergoing the endorsement process.

Previous reports had suggested that Makafui was arrested by ISPYGH 247, an investigative documentary firm in collaboration with the Pharmacy Council Ghana, for engaging in unlawful activities related to the sale of unregistered drugs, false advertising, and disseminating unapproved adverts by the FDA.

Following her arrest, various products, including Fertility Tea, Butt and Hips Enlargement Syrup, Booty Cream, and others, were confiscated. Makafui reportedly admitted that most of the drugs she sold were not registered with the FDA.

These events came after comments by Medikal, her estranged husband, insinuating that she had undergone plastic surgery to alter her body, contradicting her claims that her physical changes were due to the drugs she sold.
