Black Stars Resume Training Ahead of AFCON Qualifiers Against Angola and Niger

Players of the Black Stars have started arriving ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The team held their first training session in Accra on Monday, September 2, 2024, ahead of their trip to Kumasi on Tuesday. 

Ghana will face Angola on Thursday before heading to Morocco to play Niger next Monday.

Photos and videos shared on social media showed several players including captain Thomas Partey, Tariq Lamptey, Antoine Semenyo, and Jojo Wollacot, participating in the first training session.

Newcomers Jonas Adjetey, Ebenezer Annan, Ibrahim Osman, and Fredrick Asare also joined. More players, such as Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, and Lawrence Ati Zigi, are expected to arrive on Tuesday before the team departs for Kumasi.

Coach Otto Addo, recovering from a minor road accident, anticipates a full squad on Tuesday as preparations continue for the two crucial qualifiers. 

Ghana is eager to return to the Africa Cup of Nations after disappointing performances in the last two tournaments.

 Angola is expected to arrive in Ghana on Today for the highly anticipated clash happening on the 5th of September 2024.
