Ghanaian gospel singer Ceccy Twum has expressed deep concerns about the current state of the country, comparing it to "hell" due to what she sees as mismanagement of its systems.
She highlighted the economic struggles, stressing that survival has become increasingly difficult for many, saying, “If you don’t work hard, you and your children will go hungry. You need to rise each day and take action.”
Ceccy criticized the dysfunctional systems in Ghana, stating that if they worked efficiently, people could better endure economic hardships.
She also recalled her first visit to the UK, where she was deeply impressed by the public transportation system and wished Ghana had similar infrastructure, as it would greatly improve daily life.
“The difficult economic season has made even attending church a challenge, as transportation and related expenses often limit my fellow believers to once-a-month attendance,” she said.
She questioned why Ghana continues to depend on foreign loans instead of leveraging its natural resources like timber, gold, and oil to build its economy.
“We are constantly in debt, and our resources are being exploited, which is why we remain stagnant as a nation and continent,” she remarked.
In a hopeful message, she expressed faith in God’s help and referenced her new song Kasa (Speak Lord), calling for divine intervention during these challenging times.
