In a recent interview, Paul explained that the breakup is due to irreconcilable differences that have resurfaced despite previous attempts to repair their relationship.

During an interview with City FM in Lagos, Rudeboy confirmed the disbandment after Peter expressed his lack of interest in continuing with the group. Paul, while reluctant to delve into the specifics of their disagreement, mentioned that they had creative differences regarding their music direction. "He told me directly that he wants to quit," Paul stated, confirming the split.

Paul also revealed that Peter had requested they not publicize the split, but he felt compelled to speak out to avoid being unfairly labeled if he resumed his solo career. "When I go solo, they will call me a bad person, which is why I need to start speaking so the fans can know what's going on," Paul explained.

Furthermore, Paul accused Peter of filing a complaint against him and their older brother Jude Okoye to the EFCC, which led to an investigation. However, Paul noted that the EFCC cleared him of any financial wrongdoing.

PSquare, known for their hit songs and dynamic performances, initially gained widespread acclaim in the early 2000s. They were celebrated for their blend of Afrobeat and contemporary R&B, attracting a large fanbase in Nigeria and internationally. However, the duo faced internal tensions, leading to their first breakup in 2017.

After reuniting briefly in 2021, fans were hopeful that PSquare had resolved their issues. The brothers released new music and performed together, rekindling their former success. Unfortunately, Paul disclosed that the underlying problems were never fully addressed, resulting in another separation.
