Kwaku Manu Speaks About His Divorce With His Ex-Wife: "I Respect Her But She's Not My Friend"

Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu opened up about his divorce from Naa Okailey Nyarko and explained why he decided to end the marriage.

During an interview on UTV's United Showbiz with host Empress Gifty, he confirmed that his ex-wife had remarried a white man in the U.S. and expressed his respect for her, though he noted they were not friends. 

Kwaku Manu shared that he was the one who filed for divorce and explained that sometimes in life, wisdom and courage are necessary to avoid letting marriage consume one's life. 

In the interview, he emphasized that while he did not marry with the intention of divorcing, it was a part of life. He added that he loves his children and respects his ex-wife but acknowledged that the marriage had to end.

"So many people have run mad because of love. Others have also passed on but it did not want either of such unfortunate incidents to happen to me" he said.

His mature responses to Empress Gifty’s questions received admiration from Ghanaians, with many praising his wisdom and calm approach to discussing his past relationship.

Kwaku Manu also mentioned that his recent visit to the U.S. was not related to his ex-wife's remarriage, but to celebrate his birthday and work on a YouTube series about heartbreak. Many viewers appreciated his level-headedness, noting the wisdom he showed in handling the situation.
